CityWalk@Akard – CitySquare’s partner, Central Dallas Community Development Corporation (CDCDC), owns and operates a 15-story building in downtown Dallas. This unique and diverse vertical neighborhood is home to 200 low-income individuals, half of which were formerly homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. CityWalk provides quality, affordable housing for low-income wage earners who work in and around downtown.
Mosaic Life Church serves the CityWalk community and all who are interested in becoming a part of a thriving church family. Please join us each Sunday morning.
We believe that Mosaic Life Church is ultimately called to establish a church to serve the Vickery Meadow neighborhood. We love the diversity of people in this community and have found that the burden of low-income and high crime in the area has created a great opportunity for the gospel to be shared to open hearts. Since 2015 we have concentrated our service and outreach to the VM community.
Vickery Meadow is an ethnically-diverse neighborhood consisting almost exclusively of apartment complexes in Dallas. The area is one of the most densely populated areas of Dallas and is home to many immigrants and refugees. The area was originally developed to provide housing for childless, upper income people in the mid-1970s. The area was built out in the early 1980s. With the passage of the Fair Housing Act in 1988, the demographics shifted to a mostly low income, immigrant population from Latin America and other countries around the world. The core Vickery Meadow area consisting of 2.86 square miles and 40,646 people. A total of 102 multi-family residential properties exist in Vickery Meadow.
